Insert a disc that contains files into the drive that is having the problem. I’ve tried everything suggested except Step 5. I would like to help you with this. Message 5 of Editing the registry seems dangerous, but I’m going to try it later. I’ve got exactly the same problem with my hp dvdwbd ts-lb23l not recognising DVDs. Message 7 of I would suggest here is to run the hardware and device troubleshooter and if the issue persists, I would suggest here is to run a test on the optical drive from Hardware diagnostics.

I tried what you said Have you done all your Windows updates? Thanks for this suggestion, however, I fell at the first post with it! Message 1 of I’ve seen other posts in the forum people have Windows not recognizing the player, but this is not my case.
